Jersey After Dark
There is a lot more to Jersey than its stunning natural beauty and endless
sporting pursuits. Once the sun goes down the evening hots-up as the ‘Après Sea’
kicks into life. Jersey, with its multitude of bars, pubs, clubs and
restaurants, is home to a thriving nightlife scene. With a choice of traditional
pubs, funky new bars, live music, and al fresco dining, there is something here
to exceed the desires of even the most seasoned party-goer.
Bars and Clubs
The wonderful old parish pubs with their excellent ambiance and fine dining,
give way in St. Helier to the more sophisticated city styled bars and clubs. The
new Waterfront development to the South of St. Helier is now many peoples’
number one destination. The Bar, with panoramic views of the bay from its large
balcony, is a stylish restaurant/bar. In close proximity, Chicago Rock provides
an unrivalled party atmosphere and Liquid is without doubt the Island’s leading
Nightclub. The Waterfront, with its pulsating vibes and enticing lighting, sets
the town shimmering at night. Socialising here, against a backdrop of St.
Aubin’s Bay, the marina and its affluent yachting fraternity, is certainly an
experience not to be missed.
Further into the heart of St. Helier you will find an eclectic mix of swanky
bars and ambient drinking in seductively lit pubs. Chambers, infamous for having
the longest bar in Europe, is a popular haunt as it has live music and a late
licence throughout the week. Pre-clubbers may prefer to head towards livelier
venues such as B Bar, Sports Bar, or Fridays.
Restaurants
Jersey is notorious for its excellent cuisine and in particular its seafood
specialities. You will be spoilt for choice wherever you choose to dine. In St.
Helier, the party venues of All Sports Bar & Brasserie and Chicago Rock are
ideal for large groups. By contrast, City Bar & Brasserie offers an equally fun
but more sophisticated menu and atmosphere. As an alternative, 3 miles out of
St. Helier is the picturesque port of St. Aubin. Set around the small harbour
and with its quaint ambiance, St. Aubin offers a host of quality restaurants and
small bars. With numerous options to dine and drink al fresco, St. Aubin’s
provides the perfect setting in which to commence your ‘Après Sea’.
