The Pure Adventure Team
Penny Setubal

Penny Setubal

The boss, the big cheese, the one that calls the shots, the one that wears the checkered pants!!!
Penny is a keen cyclist, and has taken on challenges like cycling Vietnam and Equador and she is hoping to do one of the ETAPE stages of the Tour De France in July 2011.

She has First Stage British Rock and Water Association (BRAWA) qualification in Coasteering, ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid, Sea Kayak BCU 2 Star, and she is fluent in French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Peter Picot

Peter Picot

Peter is our media mogul for the company. You'll recognise his "face" from countless tv and radio appearances.
He spends his winters skiing as an instructor on different snowy mountains around the world, and his summers instructing with Pure Adventure.

Peter is one of the few in Jersey who has a Building and Fast Roping Abseiling Instructors qualification. On the off chance we get snow, he is an Alpine Ski Instructor with the Child Protection module with BASI (British Association of Snow Sports), BRAWA (coasteering) Skills, Emergency First Aid, and Managing Safely from the Institution of Occupation Safety & Health.
Mercedes Hamer

Mercedes Hamer

Apart from her ridiculous fear of Tsunamis, addicted to Star Trek, and being a book worm, Mercedes is the front line to all our customers. Mercedes is always there to help and be flexible with any of our customer requests. Even if this means booking a Coasteering session in February - Brrrrrr!!!

She is the key to all our operations and she is also our marketing GURU. Moreover, when she is not in the office answering phone calls or dealing with web requests, she is assisting with instructing the sessions. She has many years of experience as an instructor and worked in Camp America.

She has a BSc Honours Degree in Sport & Exercise Science, she has climbed the Atlas Mountains, went up Mount Snowdon twice, and sleept under the starts in the Sahara desert.
Maleka Robbins

Maleka Robbins

Maleka is our resident fishing expert, known as ‘M’. She is a keen horse rider, sailor and runner to name but a few of the sports she indulges in and beneath the effervescent persona lies a sci-fi and horror movie fan and expert cook, so feel free to challenge her if you dare!

Her lifetime interest in boating along with her qualifications in first aid and sea survival techniques, make her the perfect crew for our rib trips to Les Minquiers and Ecrehous.

Zoltan Zsilinszky

Zoltan Zsilinszky

Zoltan is our foreign connection! Active, fit and always up for a good laugh.
When he is not working for Pure Adventure, he is running half-marathons, surfing and getting up to no good with the ladies!!!

Have a look at Zoltan in action!!!

Mick Robbins

Mick Robbins

Mick is the most qualified skipper for Pure Adventure. He holds a commercially endorsed RYA/MCA Yachmaster Offshore Certificate. What this means is that he can be in charge of any boat, both power and sail with a grosse tonnage of up to 200 grosse tonnes. Now, just because his certificate states that he can be in charge of such a craft, does not mean that we would put him in-charge of one!!!
However,he is more than qualified to drive our half-tonne RIB.

Mick is also a keen kayaker and when he is not working in his full time job, he is out playing with boats.
Mike Harrison

Mike Harrison

Mike was the first of our boat skippers to introduce us to a 30 knot hat (a hat that does not fly off when we are cruising at 30 knots).
Mike is one of our RIB skippers with many years of experience in boating. Mike also works part-time as a relief skipper for the Jersey Fisheries. Moreover, he is a keen fisherman and enjoys a sailing his 16" boat.
Natasha Setubal

Natasha Setubal

Natasha is the youngest member of the team, but she is always ready to assist with any activity. Given the chance, she is the first jumping from the rocks while coasteering or demonstrating the safety features of our fully automatic life-jackets when crewing in our RIB.

Mario Setubal

Mario Setubal

Mario is one of our RYA Commercially qualified boat skippers. He holds a Coastal skipper for both sail and power boats and is qualified to be in charge of a boat of up to 24 meters in length. He also holds an Emergency First Aid certificate, Short Range Radio Certificate, CEVNI certificate and an ICC (International Certificate of Competence). The ICC is a requirement for travelling out of Jersey territorial waters, and when he is not driving the RIB, he is either racing sailing boats or enjoying his own sailing boat.
Most important of all, he holds a local Boat Masters licence.
